Limassol, 13 August 2026: Tickmill has announced the winners of the Trading Cup 2026, a global trading competition that ran from 11 June to 7 August 2026, with traders from around the world competing for a share of the $30,000 prize pool.

Starting on the same day as the FIFA World Cup 2026, the Trading Cup took inspiration from one of the world’s biggest sporting competitions. This year’s expanded World Cup brought together 48 national teams for the first time, while Tickmill’s competition was structured to reward its top 48 performers with cash prizes.

While played on very different fields, both competitions put performance under pressure at the centre of the action. Just as football teams had to deliver at the highest level to progress through the tournament, Trading Cup participants had to apply their strategies across changing market conditions and outperform a global field of competitors to climb the leaderboard.

The contest rewarded participants who achieved the highest return on investment (ROI) during the competition period, highlighting disciplined trading, consistency and strategy across different asset classes.

The competition also unfolded against an eventful backdrop for global markets. Geopolitical developments in the Middle East contributed to sharp moves in energy markets, while shifting expectations around U.S. interest rates influenced currencies, gold and equities. Participants therefore had to navigate periods of changing sentiment and volatility as they competed for the top positions on the leaderboard.

The Trading Cup 2026 attracted thousands of participants from multiple countries, resulting in a highly competitive leaderboard throughout the competition. In total, 48 traders won cash prizes, with the top performer taking home $8,000.

At the end of the eight-week competition, the top winners are:

World Champion - 1st place: Ayinmode Temitope Elijah | $8,000

Podium Places

2nd place: Ahmad Shahidan Bin Romli | $3,000

3rd place: Fatih Turhan | $3,000

8th place: Christopher Christopher Awinia | $1,000

The Trading Cup was created to give traders the opportunity to  put their skills and strategies to the test in live market conditions while competing against participants worldwide using Tickmill's competitive conditions and advanced trading platforms.

"Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to everyone who took part in this year's Trading Cup. Like the World Cup that inspired this year’s competition, the Trading Cup brought participants together from around the world, all competing to reach the top. Traders faced a particularly eventful period in the markets, highlighting the level of commitment and discipline of our global community, and making the achievements of those who reached the top of the leaderboard all the more impressive. We look forward to bringing our traders even more opportunities to challenge themselves and put their skills to the test in the future." commented Johnny Khalil, Group Director of Trading & Liquidity.
